Hansel played his guitar and sang a song about a dude in a wheelchair, composed by himself. hehe which was good too, it was a good one as everyone was delighted and ended up laughing =D
A special thanks to Sue Choo & Shirlyn who were the F&B managers (great job!!); Jin Werne who got the performers & short video clips (nice pick!!); Darren & Su Miin the money collectors (vital role!!! hehe good job); those who helped to clean up, great job guys & girls!! the place is really clean and tidy!! P105: Hoodies Day
Monday, August 27, 2007

Picture at last ready for download! =D
P105 rocks big time ^^
Thanks to Wei Meng for editing the picture ^^
Our very first DressCode day in UoS =D
And yes it was the middle of Summer!!
All have traveled afar
To a place where we now call home
For this one year or so we will be together
To brave through the storms that come our way
Much tears and laughter have been experienced
Even in this short period of time
No doubt more will come our way
But together we will stand
Lending a helping hand without asking anything in return
For we are a batch that stands together
None of us are perfect
But in our imperfections we stay united
P105 we have made our mark in IMU
so let us now once again leave our mark here in UoS
To a place where we now call home

It's gonna be our final year ppl!!! So lets press forward together!!
P105: Appreciation & Gratitude
Dear batchmates,
I've taken the liberty to write a thank you note to the staff & lecturers back in IMU..so below would be the email that I've sent out on behalf of the whole P105 ^^
*so this is one of the things that Fionna is doing instead of studying...*
Dear staff & lecturers of IMU,
We, P105, would like to send our appreciation & gratitude for all that you've done in our two and a half years in IMU. =)
Especially to our dean & the staff of the pharmacy faculty, our deepest gratitude for all the hard work in ensuring that all of us are able to transfer to Strathclyde (as long as we do our part to study..) More than that, ensuring that you give us the best out of everything that you can offer, to have us play our part in society, as contributors and not takers only.
A lot of things are usually done without us, as students noticing it but as we continue to grow in our maturity, we definitely do realize that it is not easy and most of the time everyone does beyond what is just merely required of them.
The 'busy-ness' of life often leave us ungrateful or rather gratefulness not shown or spoken of, thus I've decided to take this opportunity to say our heartfelt thanks for everything!
To the Student Affairs: Thanks for answering all our queries and worries. Our insensible complains & whines.
To the Academic Affairs: Thanks for taking all our questions & having the patience to answer us when our results were delayed.
To the lecturers: Thanks for not writing us off as hopeless when we come to you with 101 questions that we should have already known the answer. (Although you wish you could at times..) And to try to talk to us & than listening to us amidst your hectic workload.
To the rest of the department of IMU: we definitely have encountered you one time or another, thanks for everything! Just as everyone would be needed to ensure that the Uni functions properly, we would also like to thank all of you.
We all know that no university is perfect but after being here for about 3 months, I can daresay that IMU is doing a fairly good job!
Just a simple Thank You to all the staff in IMU.
Herein attached a picture of our batch =)
Dresscode for the day: Hoodies

advertise on blogs
well I just got accepted on this program where you need to be entitled to it...I guess I'm just doing it for fun...where you can just write your opinion on something and than get paid by it.
basically...you get paid to blog on certain things that are offered to it...I suppose it would do no harm to commit a few blogs to earn some cash in return ^^
will definitely let you know when I see the cash banked into my account!! =D
no harm trying though...blog advertisements & all XD
Let's hope I see the $$$$$$ than it would be make blogging more worth while ^^
oook...just got the rules on my back...need this post to be at least 150words long XD
i guess blogging has really caught up in its trend in this past year or two..and the advertisers have also picked up the trend ..to advertise on people's blog...it's a good advertising scheme provided that the stuff advertised are really good stuff....so when i get my money from this smorty job i'll definitely recommend it to all of you again =D

mmm oh yea on thursday night I had a super fantastico night out!!!
I had dinner with a marvelous lady =) in a fine dining restaurant called City Merchant (east side of Glasgow city centre)
the restaurant is superb!!!
UNFORTUNATELY I utterly forgot to bring my camera...-_- so I only managed a few shots with her camera...shucks!!
My meal:-
Starters
Venison with cranberry tarrine = simply yummy! it's a game meat..and a cold dish =)
i love the taste of the venison...ahh perfect!!!
Main Course
Haddock with beer batter and chips = basically fish & chips ^^ the fillet was big! as long as both of my palms put together..simply crispy and light & nice! Didn't manage to finish the whole fish though..just a bit left hehe
Dessert
Vanilla ice cream with toffee sauce = oooohhhh...the vanilla ice cream was full of flavor! soft & smooth and fragrant topped with toffee sauce!! ooolalala XD
Drink
Italian wine, San Maria = smooth, rich and full of texture..ahhh!
Now that's a complete meal!! haha..I'm utterly blessed! Thank God!!
Had a delightful time, chatting & eating..having a good laugh =)
Oh...and I've found the perfect place to hold the upcoming fund raising event!! Glasgow Green XD
{lost?...well just wait till I've got more info posted up...haha..it's gonna be exciting!!!wheeee}

...what's written in the paper OR not written is done and past...
i watched 2 movies..started off with Initial D but darn it was in mandarin..took the kick out of it..but it's still good
movies tend to help me re-think stuff, re-focus myself again..
that's why I don't watch thriller or super lame dumb stuff -_-
that's my personal opinion anyway..and I'm entitled to it =D
I had a fantastic lunch cum dinner...cause it was already 5 than...I made my fav. potato salad changed the flavoring a bit :) with some romanian lettuce and garlic naan! which was just simply superb!
I also watched -->
take the lead: nice!
inspires me to pick up some dance moves..although I pretty much suck at it..haha...am stiff as a stone =p ..working on it ..working on it...^^
it's always good to have a good laugh at myself at how silly I look at times..well maybe most of the times than..hehe
touches on one of my well used tagline: life is all about choices
I always need to remind myself that...no one can ever force you to be angry, to be hurt, to be sad...yea sure circumstances can be the factor but it's up to you whether you wanna let it affect you or not =)
tough...but true
GOOD news:
we don't have to live this life alone...we don't need to journey the dark lonely days alone
we don't need to walk through the valleys of life with no one beside us
For there is always a Friend who's just waiting for you to call on Him.
13I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]. Phil 4:13 -Amplified Bible-

Night before FMT2
Monday, August 13, 2007
it's a wee (scottish slang...I don't wanna pick up their accent!) bit drizzle..
a cold windy night...but NICE =)
my window is wide open...it feels like an air-conditioned room (that's what Leah my housemate said)
temperature is 13degrees
eating one of my ginger cookies..
sipping my hot jasmine tea...
some slow songs playing on my mac...
reading my FMT2 book now and than...
was looking up some recipes earlier on...
ahh it's a great day today!!
and my rooster just crowed...(on my mac I've discovered once its past midnight, the rooster crows literally!)
daddy wish I could hug you now...
mummy just wish you were here...

lunch cum dinner

muwahaha...lovely!!! i just had this for my dinner also...but the chicken was marinated differently ^^ by Alicia & PF: taste really good!!
so how is this made? Simple
1. Oven the marinated chicken (which ever you like)
2. Boil the water, throw in the noodles
3. Crack an egg into the bowl
4. Pour a bit of the boiling water into the bowl with the egg
5. Take the noodles out and into the bowl + egg
6. Mix everything together. Add a bit of the boiling water, so it's not too dry.
7. Add in sesame oil & oyster sauce into the bowl. 1 tbp of each. Mix it.
8. DONE!
I love good food and it's just in my genes to come up with food of such haha XD

crumpets
Crumpets are one of the yummy stuff here in Glasgow!! =D
I just discovered it last week randomly..as I was in Sainsbury (grocery shop) and I saw this packet on the shelf..it was pretty cheap only 21p ^^so I just grabbed it and toss it into my basket
It's like a pancake but thicker and have lots of holes in it..like a honeycomb ^^
It's spongy like in texture, smells lovely
Click here for more info on wiki =)
so what can you do with a crumpet? welp below is a simple recipe of mine ^^ you can also drizzle honey on it and than top it with a good thick amount of peanut butter!!!! or you can just spread some chocolate over it =D YUMMY!!

CHeaper by the Dozen
Just finish watching the movie 'Cheaper by the Dozen'
fairly good movie but what trigger my thoughts most would be the main essence of the movie...your dream
can a person really have it all?
yes I think so...at this point of time in my life I would say so
for as time changes so does your dream...
you used to think that nike was the best but after seeing what the world has to offer..nike is just another one of those...but nike was your dream shoe and now it no longer is
we can never fully understand why people could give up so much just for a family...but ultimately a family is what their dreams have become
I guess as time progresses... we to progress on in life..we give up certain things...things that we think will give us the ultimate but in the end, it might not be after all
we can never fully understand how can one Man give up everything and yet demand nothing in return...to unjustly die for all
but yet that is what has been done
Now I guess I understand a little bit more of what it means of living the best life...
so many things can worry us in life, but yet worrying does not do a single thing at all..it's the most futile effort that any human being can do
life is so much more than just passing exams
what if I die today and I was too busy burying my head in my book and failed to touch someone with my smile?
ahh there's just so much I need to learn
Journeying this life...it's a journey not a destination =)
19-21"Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.

My Thoughts
Chef Day!
today was definitely a wacky day!
slpt at 1am woke up at 5.18am
made some breakfast cause if I don't eat I would definitely fall back to sleep again
studied till 6.30am and went back to sleep ^^
woke up again at 8.49am as I was dreaming about a dentist calling out my name...lo and behold it was phuay fhern who was calling me...asking for some directions to the exam hall or something XD
showered went for the exam
i already told myself that i would not ever cry for academic reasons again...so after my paper, me and pao suk went to Teso Extra. Although it was a long walk as told...but it was quite alright..I needed the walk after all
both of us laughed our heads off for goodness knows what haha...but it was good =D
we bought a whole lot of stuff!! and I think I got enough stuff to last me through till Dec?? haha..good good...now I won't starve if I'm too lazy to do anything...can you believe that I actually still have food from the first month?..it's my second month now by the way ^^
plain lazy to do anything at times...hehe
fast forward: so today I'm the chef!
will post up pictures later ^^
Menu of the Day:-
Caviar on Toast
Tom Yum Bee Hoon
Potato Salad
Pearly Green Beans with Ice Cream
First off, the dessert it just came up impromtu..haha..and it taste pretty good actually! It's just basically green beans + sago 'tong sui' (sweet water, its a dessert soup) and I made it thicker so it's not too watery. Left it to cool and than before serving, got scoops of vanilla ice-cream and than poured the 'tong sui' over it. Which was pretty interesting concoction.
You taste the warmth of the 'tong sui' and than a tinge of coldness starts as the ice-cream dissolves in your mouth XD lovely!
Potato Salad was good!! Thanks to Kah Yee and Wen Jiun which helped to prepared it =)
Rather a simple dish ^^
Potatoes, eggs, mayo & seasoning with herbs & spices to taste =)
Caviar on toast: yummy! Added the extra touch to my whole menu ^^
I just simply buttered the bread, cut into squares, oven it.
Layer a slice of cheese and lemon and than top it off with caviar (John West: the only one available)
Tom Yum Bee Hoon: Mum's recipe of course. Anything that is continental would usually be hers...it was just quite alright...as I think it didn't have enough of the oomph there...not because of her recipe haha but I didn't have a big enough pan and was too lazy to add in the extra taste. Not spicy enough too...darn...should have added in more tom yum cubes -_-
Quite pleased with today's result although it can be much better...welp a BIG thanks to my housemates and my neighbors who have helped out in every way ^^
PiCTURES!! up soon...hehe....try not to salivate on your keyboard. ^^
slpt at 1am woke up at 5.18am
made some breakfast cause if I don't eat I would definitely fall back to sleep again
studied till 6.30am and went back to sleep ^^
woke up again at 8.49am as I was dreaming about a dentist calling out my name...lo and behold it was phuay fhern who was calling me...asking for some directions to the exam hall or something XD
showered went for the exam
i already told myself that i would not ever cry for academic reasons again...so after my paper, me and pao suk went to Teso Extra.
Which was pretty interesting concoction.

haha i was just browsing through some of my works and literature...I am amazed XD
anyway wrote this quite some time ago =)
anyway wrote this quite some time ago =)
deep within the cries of my head
the dull aching pain
it just never goes away...
the build up of hormones
the build up of emotions
oh! what is this all?
another phase of life
another chapter of a book
to grow up and learn
to fall down and learn
why must it all be so?
oh God of heaven and earth
where art thou?
in my deepest distress
you seemed to have vanished
oh how could it be..
that i'm born into such a time as this?
my head still aches away...
it just never goes away...
but on your word i stand
because you have never failed me
and this time would not make a difference
for the past have prove itself
you are always there
just like the stars in the sky...
even though i don't see it at times
but yet it doens't mean that the sky is starless tonight
take courage!
for all is not lost
eternity awaits
the day i see you face to face
spirit of the almighty
come to my distress i pray
for i can stand no longer alone
it was not meant to be
it was not meant to be
as it went past the hooting owl
the rooster crows once again
a brand new morning
a brand new day
your mercies are new every morning
the dull aching pain
it just never goes away...
the build up of hormones
the build up of emotions

can't recall what it was about ..but definitely going through the motions ^^
through it all, I can stand and say that God is good =D
wheee now I shall leave my laptop alone and flick my FMT 1 book XD

brazilian nutz

as i was typing in the title 'brazillian..' it reminded me of Carlos, my brazilian buddy =)
it's been like 3yrs? since I last saw him face to face...which means the last I got a hug from him would be 3 years ago...that's really long..he alway gives what he calls a bone crushing hug =D
mmm...even with the whole world wired up, distance would always be distance..that would hold true till the day I own a private jet company...
than I could just simply fly to anywhere I want to XD
haha..the Gigantic Card in my room (back in KL) hanging on my wall ^^
given by my buddy Ivy...we sorta like made a pac that when I own my jet we will fly to paris for lunch and shopping and to another place for dinner ..now how cool is that?
anyway I'm going all nuts about nuts ^^ lots of good nuts over here
so how does a brazilian nut taste?
- a lil creamy
- smells nice
- crunchy texture
- can be quite filling after you've eaten a few
- smooth
random = without method or conscious decision
been using this word a lot lately..

the day before FMT 1 degree exam
just woke up not too long ago...had about 9 -10 hours of sleep ^^
made myself breakfast which was superbly good (unfortunately I grilled it a lil too long XD
I discovered this thing call crumpets...ahh ...it's sorta like a mix between waffles and pancake but distinctively crumpets hehe
i shall post up a pic later
really good stuff!
mmmm....what a beautiful day it is =) you know one of the best part about Glasgow is that, what ever time you wake up..you won't feel hot. haha. Unlike KL, if you were to wake up at this hour of 1 plus, you'll very likely got woken up because you were sweating or it's just simply too hot...since mum always off the air-con earlier on...
the aroma of my chocolate drink floods into my ol'factory as it just sits right in front of me here as I type..
life is wonderful =) Praise God for such a great life!
oh I watched stranger than fiction yesterday it's was a good movie..but the earlier part was kinda sucky ..but it turned out alright =)
anyone wanna send me some DVD ripped movies? We could exchange some..hehe
alright..now to read some ...shower n my day begins!

One Night 4 College Students Were Playing Till Late Night And Didn't Study
For The Test Which Was Scheduled For The Next Day.
In the morning they thought of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty
and weird with grease and dirt. They then went up to the Dean and
said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return
the
tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way
back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test.
So the Dean said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him
and said they will be ready by that time. On the third day they appeared
before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test,
All four were required to sit in seperate classrooms for the test.
They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.
The Test consisted of 2 questions with the total of 100 Marks.
Q.1. Your Name........ ......... ........( 2 MARKS )
Q.2. Which tyre burst ?........... ....( 98 MARKS )
a) Front Left
b) Front Right
c) Back Left
d) Back Right .....!!!
True story from IIT Bombay...Batch 1992-96
Fio's Lesson of the Day:-
if you wanna plan out something, be smart and make sure you cover all aspects of things. look into the details and that will ensure you success =p

My Journey
The month of my country
boy am I suppose to be studying XD & I am suppose to email a report to someONE..hehe...a few more important emails to write...
It's August 2007, first time in my 22 years of life that I will be celebrating my country, Malaysia, independence away from home...
Despite the setbacks, the unjustness, stupid policies, lousy administration..etc etc etc every country has it Malaysia has indeed come a long way. 50 years have passed since we gained freedom but are we truly a free country?
What does it mean to have freedom? The word in which nearly every young teenager is familiar with.."I want my freedom" "I need my freedom"
The word Merdeka will always bring back memories...the day where we (P105 and B104) had our Cultural Day. It was a total blast!! Superb and awesome. The only unfortunate thing is that I did not manage to get a hold of the video...that day was truly one of the best days in IMU ^^
So will I be the one who will step into my country and serve?
The arena of politics: the blood & sweat, the buckets of tears, the agony, the back stabbers, the evil grins, the fake laughs, the shitty job....
Thrilling?
who knows....it just might be =)
anyway wei meng (my other batchrep) & myself might just come up with some plans to celebrate MErdEka! There's like 114 of us here after all ^^ a class party cum cooking competition is what we're mulling over at..
Despite everything else...I LOVE my COUNTRY. Malaysia rocks big time XD

new stuff!
Thursday, August 2, 2007

welp so far I've bought 5 items under the category of cloths ^^
mmm...I find the fashion sense here in Glasgow is just alright..everyone seems to be wearing the same stuff here and there...maybe it's because of the weather?? XD
They have lots of nice sun dresses over here but rather impractical as there is hardly any sun here. So pointless in me getting them..might just get them before I leave this place, if I do leave hehe
the mid-range stuff are just alright nothing to shout about..KL has better cloths at the same price =) but those that comes with a PRICE TAG are pretty good...unfortunately I have to bear in mind that I'm not working yet -_-
oh the sales here are really good!! KL sales are kinda fakey sometimes...over here they literally slash it! so it's good for all of us =D I shall need to show you my NewYork Yankees belt someday..it 's only 0.01p!! That's dirt cheap ^^ Hansel found it XD
Hansel: Fionna check this out!! only 0.01p!
Me: what for?
Hansel: aiyahh just buy only la! Just now you picked up 1p from the floor right?
Me: mmm ok -laa haha
*lady at the counter smiles*

No time?
welp I'm actually in the midst of rushing to complete my lab report for tonight =) as I need to get it over with and start preparing for my finals XD FMT 1 degree exam is on next Wed and it doesn't look easy at all...
anyway got this mail from Voon Yuen (my batchmate and bball mate) so I thought I would post it up ^^ although I've gotten this mail quite a few times already it never fails to get me thinking
time is just a matter of relativity
A great note for all, to read it will take just 37 seconds to read this and change your thinking
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. T hey spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fin e view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.
It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window
The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.
She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."
Epilogue:
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.
"Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."
~Life is just a matter of choice~
so what perspective do you choose to view life today?
I may not have touched the whole world but if I have touched a soul than there will be hope that the whole world can be touched. For a single person can change the course of history, just as many great men and women have done in the past. And for that, I choose to strive for excellence and to live a legacy.
