clinical trial study 2

well since I didn't post up anything on the first clinical trial study..it would be quite good to post this up ^^

my second round of study...hopefully I don't get fever this time =p

alright background info:
Osteoporosis drug
Objective: testing a new formulation --> effervescent and tablets
so generally the drug is already in the market but now they would like to produce a different formulation to see how this new formulation (effervescent) works.
Downside: invasive --> nasal tube insertion into your stomach to monitor the pH levels.that's how the tube looks like and this has to be attached to me till 3pm

how does it feel? annoying as there is a tube in my throat...I can feel it each time I swallow..
and than for the first time round, I got a pretty bad fever..so hopefully I don't get it this time XD

plus points: i get paid! about £120plus for a day 7am - 3pm
i get wifi connection so I can clear up my stuff from the last 2 months!!

so much has been happening that I don't even have time to blog all about it!~

ok back to this study
I think I'm taking the tablet this time round, as the last time round I got effervescent which tasted pretty good I must say but took ages to completely move out from my stomach

so I should be taking the tablet at 11am..the faster it goes out from my stomach the sooner I get to drink a glass of smoothie ( my only food since 10:30pm yesterday)
oh yea another point to note ..for the whole 24hours yesterday, I was not allowed to take in alcohol or caffeine...normally it wouldn't be a prob but it's like after exams...intake of alcohol is a norm over here as they don't have teh tarik and it is highly expensive to get a cup of coffee XD

well...just in case some of you might have not known just yet..i got selected for viva XD

been living a routine-less life! after months of studying my brain needs to recoup ^^

loads of random night outs...doing crazee and wacky stuff

below would be an example of my life recently:-

yesterday night...went to Tesco Extra at 1am to buy food for BBQ but than it was raining so we ended up buying food for the oven...went back about 2plus or 3ish...started cooking pizza and eating and drinking XD
oh we baked a whole chicken as well...so we had a supper cum breakfast = supfast

one of the days last week, decided to go to the Botanical Garden at 2am in the morning. So 3 of us buddies went at 12pm after our sleep of course!~ weather was GRRRReat!!! Loads of photos taken, shall post it up soon enough...normality has not return to my life XD

some where along the days...we went for a night walk about 45mins to an hour walk away...and than back...photos shall be up soon as well ^^

oh my whole june is completely booked up

I think that there's only 1 or 2 days that are completely empty...and those days I shall need to upload pictures and stuff XD

today it's thursday....i'm not too bothered to be in the library today...plus the fact that my buddy won't be in...so lagi no motivation to go...

i miss talking in the malaysian slang where i can just joke easily and pull off a laugh from the audience....here i gotta change my slang...adopt a different way of speaking....a bit difficult though...no as smooth as i want it to be...but maybe a little while longer...i'll just get the whole drift of conversing in ENGLISH!~

i went to work this morning....it's a brilliant job! thank GOD for it!!!
i get paid to talk...a whole whopping £12/hr for 2 hours and than an hour for prep work...which thanks to my experiences ...no prep needed for me...muwahaha
the last session of this mentor thing ends next thursday...i wonder how am i gonna wake up!! as wed is my last paper..muwahahahahahaha

i don't expect to be in bed till at least 4 or maybe 5am?!!? haha CAN'T WAIT

3 weeks of exams..is just wayyyy toooooo long....fatigue sets in....boredom sets in....can't be bothered sets in....SIGH...

than just now i got a phone interview...a part time job for 3 months....ideally starts in mid July...than it's perfect!~ i get paid like £7.94/hr ^^

in total i get like £2k whoooo hoooo

mmm...pray that i get something like £8/hr or more and in the city centre so i can just walk to work...hmm that is just brilliant beyond words!!

hopefully my norway trip gets pulled off as well..now a lil problemo since stevo's family booked him a graduation cum bday holiday ...ka-dish...tsk tsk...we'll see we'll see
and than my road trip plan gets pulled off too...

hmm anyway...thinking of going to Uzbek...Germany...Czech...before i head on home...visa expires in Oct...so latest tht i'll be in UK would be Oct....than I need to get my butt out...drop by a few places...than home sweet home...KL my city my life...here I come!!!

i nearly forgot how much i miss my ppl back home!!
till one of my buddies emailed me....i shed a tear and nearly ended up crying! haha XD

but i'm still not sure yet whether i'll come back to UK or not...God has still yet to open the door for me....so till than...KL it is =D

I've got sooo many things planned up to do when I get back...I've grown up!
Learned a whole lot of stuff..
I must get some time aside to write down all the things that I've learned and the things that God has brought me through =)
I wrote some amazing stuff...unfortunately i think i deleted it...ka-dish...

hmm...well first few hours was fine....now i'm getting restless...doesn't help with the fact that i'm studying alone today...for the first time....completely without MSN, Skype...all those sorts....no one connected alive is communicating with moi...it's just me and my laptop...and no one else...

oh well...it's 6:30pm now.... i've got 200 slides to read up for genes....and i'm only at slide no. 53 a quarter of it down...and 3 more quarters of it to go..

i miss playing bball...and going to the gym....my muscles have completely deteriorate (exaggeration employed)

by the way...greek yogurt with swiss muesli (no sugar) plus jam is really good...fast, easy, convenient

haven't been cooking or baking anything special lately....

shall just put my life to stand still for awhile...at least for another 17days....

after 2 weeks of living in another world...Fionna Tan is BACK!!!!

dissertation nearly caused me my life! and the end product was shite -_-
this is where I say good bye to my distinction and merit and hello pass *full stop*

anyways I had one of the wackiest trip ever in the weekend!!!! muwahahaha never been so cheeky in my entire life for ONE WHOLE WEEKEND!!

I was up in the highlands and was staying in Inverness ...a superb house that we got..and a whole bunch of wacky playmates!!! Visited loads of places...took lots n lots of pictures...as usual my camera hardly contains any human elements =p

I'll put up some pictures later on ^^

thank God for the superb weather...we were always heading towards the sunshine but occasionally got caught in the snow XD
oh by the way...it's SPRING and yea it's SNOWING!!

coming towards the end of uni life

well...this week is my last week for my research project...and heck i'm way far from finishing... XD

haha alicia was saying, I've never been so last minute before in my entire uni life ....me? haha quite the less opposite...simply because there's just so much life to do apart from Uni =p

anyway it's not that i want to be so last minute at times....there are days in which i've sat down and nothing moves....so it's not my fault XD

oats...

it's past midnight now...and i'm sitting here doing my research project....but than i got hungry...so i decided to try out some oats....i never liked eating porridge oats...it's only for sick ppl..and even whn i'm sick i don't eat oats....

must be this whole brain cells got fried process that suddenly i wanted to try out oats -_-

officially...for fionna tan...oats will be out of my menu....it only exits in cookies and cakes and desserts....but not as a porridge....i don't even know how i spooned half a bowl into my mouth...and now it's yuck XD

well...it smells nice though..coz i added in milo...sugar...honey...cinnamon..peanut butter..but there's still something lacking in it...probably it's the sweet condensed milk.....

but than again..maybe it's not too bad after.....but definitely i'll go for a roti canai or cheese naan anytime =p

oh well....i'm gonna stay up all night..so i need to have food in me......with my brain steaming out smoke every now and than...and suddenly mr. ache knocks on my brain loudly...which is not helping at all....every now and than...my brain freezes....

and i'm like ...nyam nyam nyam yuck yuck....on the oats......

well well...don't worry....just a few more days...and i'll be sane again...soon enough...soon enough

Rites, first off I really need to get into the habit of early to bed and early to rise...BECAUSE pimples are popping up on my forehead!!!! And I only get that when I don't have enough sleep -_-

This would be a good enough reason for me to change my sleeping habits simply because pimples are soooo ANNOYING.

Anyway today we, (ste, al & myself) had curry chicken with noodles and some random desert =D

Why one meal a day?

Cause I woke up like 12 plus or 1 hehe..than look up the map to See Woo, the place is great! They even have got durians!!! I miss durians! ahh they are heavenly I say!!! XD
Anyway, this place is like an oriental hypermarket, they smell like those warehouses back home..with all the chinese-ty stuff ^^

so off we went..to See Woo..spent like probably an hour there, checking out all the various stuff...I am MISSING OUT on so MUCH FOOD here -_-
but thank God I don't have insane cravings for it XD

oh yea..mental note: Al's car has mold in it..but he claims it's ice-cream

i was totally starving by than...so we started off cooking when we came back...than had those random deserts ...than sui gao!!! haha...i made 2 batches cause all of us were starving...relatively simple...just had to steam it ^^

prior to that we were preparing the stuff for the curry chicken....Al was chomping up the potatoes with a clever, which is pretty wacky...you can see by the way he chops it, he's not used a clever before..haha..anyway we had loads of good laughters

nonetheless...we chucked everything in...put in the curry sauce...and Al was seriously doubting
that we can cook a chicken with boiling water...Ste was like anything goes by...one a typical westerner and the other an adventurer =p
welp no potential chefs here...haha...I on the other hand inherited the genes XD

was suppose to take some photos but we were all too hungry...so by the time we were eating half-way..the food is far beyond looking presentable
only one decent picture which is ste pausing for the camera...Al was just busy gobbling up the food =p


so by the time we finished it was about 7 plus = one meal a day.

oh yea some of the random dessert includes: japanese cheesecake, red bean rice cake, lou poh pang (wife cake)

i am suppose to be finishing up my introduction for my research project XD which is about 3000 words...I've only got 65 words now: ka-dish

well..my blog's been pretty crappy...nothing interesting lately...cause...first off..too lazy to post up...coz of too much work or party?...thn some of it..i don't wanna let the whole world know about it =p
but than...I thought of my mates..who are far from me....and I can't possibly keep up with everyone all at the same time....so HERE it is...just a wee bit into my life...that all my mates should know and read and have a good laugh!!! XD

ok first let me tell you how this whole random-ness begins...muwhahaa
and i can hear you say...about time!!! SPILLL it!!!

first off...this week itself (btw my hsemates always claims that i do random stuff anyways =p
i had a cookout with one of my scottish buddies...another wacky guy...so we were started off cooking..but prior before that..night before i only slept like 3hours
thn i had to wake up for my GP attachment in Maryhill Health Centre which was superb!!

What i did there was basically...sit in the doctor's room, talk to him and than when the patient is in, see how he deals with the patient...and all...which was pretty cool....
i had very interesting patients!!!
suicidal n depression ..hehe..i just find it funny =p n thn eczema...a baby...hypertension..a yellow lady = jaundice...quite cool la

the doctor worked for an hour..than it was tea time!!! wheeee..a pharm. company rep was there = a good spread of food!!! haha...so we had some sandwiches thn a cuppa..thn back to office thn it's a wrap!~

so we went to tesco coz needed to buy stuff for my cookout...thn my buddy came n picked us (me n my mate) up...went to a chinese shop called Chung Ying...which was sooo cool!! I nearly forgot what on earth I have been missing out all these while!!!! ALL THE FOOOOOD but oh well...i'm still good hehehe...so yea after tht back to my flat for THE COOKOUT

had loads of nonsensical laughters while cooking...my buddy was like having the time of his life using the cleaver to chop up the pork...oh yea.we cooked bak kut teh and belacan beans n carrots ^^
food was apparently superb my scottish mate said...but not spicy enuf for me la...n thn we were dead hungry..so the soup also not tht tasty for me la...haha...i just have high expectations =p the soup later on i kept it on low heat for like more thn 24hours n all the herbs taste were extracted n it was superb!!! super kau haha

ok yea..so we cooked a whole lot..coz my 2 other buddies were suppose to come (i planned) hehe but thn they just moved hse...so one was working..another ws doin up the hse...so my scottish buddy here who cooked with me suggested tht we shud just bring the food over..which was brilliant n all fine by ME

so tht's wat we DID =D

first off..told my buddy who was working..asked for address...looked up google map..n specifically said...ok u check the directions...n make sure u get it down k
brilliant...
thn we had some chinese tea n stuff..so we left for my other buddies

SO...we went...thn my super brilliant buddy...jot down the details of the directions rite...so i said ok lemme see...n do u know what on earth he wrote???....just the street names n one turn right into another street name...i was like??!!!?!?! This is not a map!!! or a direction!!!
so i saw the map..and i am good with maps...so i said tis is the road...he said ahh it's fine...so he went...n true enuf...i was laughin my head off..coz it's the wrong road! n it was like 6pm = rush hour...n we were on the highway...but thk GOD our direction is not too bad...so i was like saying..ok we need to find another way to get to our destination by avoiding the highway..if not will just be stucked

so we went along..thn he took the wrong exit..ka-dish!!!!! we were heading for Stirling!!!!!!! totally wrong direction!!!...both of us were laughing... tht is random-ness no. 1
random-ness ROAD TRIP so after like what was suppose to be a 12min drive took us like 30mins!

arrived at the workplace..saw my buddy =D totally love her!! thn talk talk talk...laugh laugh laugh...i laughed my head off with her giving the directions to the hse...coz buddy 2 was in d hse hungry...poor fella...so off we went to d hse...talk talk talk..he ate...laugh laugh laugh
thn i stayed to paint the house = random-ness no. 2 n poor leslie hehe had to go gym all by herself XD coz i was suppose to gym with her...but thn...random-ness took its course..hehehe

so we painted the living hall ...until like 3am only i baru reach home XD
had pizza hut for a break...thn cont. to paint
it was good fun!!!!!!!
it has been such a looooooong time since i last did this kinda stuff =D

due to another story...can't tell here la...if not too long d..haha
so i suggested we go for a trip becoz bottom line i can't go to Greece liow.....so ok...we say let's check it out

so we looked it out..thn i said..WHY NOT we do a random one??..pick a place where we never heard of before..n just buy a ticket n fly there?!!? Al n Stevo said alright!! thn yuppers we look look look..ryanair had some cheap tix...so we look some more...spotted the name Oslo...didn't even know where it is..so googled it up to see what it's like ...so we were like..hey it's quite nice!
so we went n booked it...thn hesitated..ok why not we do it on another day?..thn talk talk talk..thn Al said..why not we just book it now..n whoever wants to go can just come along thn...just us 3 we book it now...i was like COOOOllll yea we shud just do it! n whoever wanna come can just book their tix!
so we look for the dates...12-16th june....is the best one..17th june is our grad ball..so we have to be back...so ok alas...got the dates...thn al was saying 12th.hmm hey tht's ur bday stevo!..r u sure ur parents r cool???..he was like yeaaa it's my bday! yea it's fine..coz they don't do anything..so it's cool...we shud just do it thn!

i was like...wait...how old r u?..22 thn ok it's cool ^^ (btw since i've passed 21 i dont care about my age anymore..haha...i tot i was 22 today..but by right..i'm 23!! haha..oh well age doesn't matter anymore! i'm legal to do anything =p

rite so payment time..credit card out...we were like ok ok...lets just do it!
thn we just check in 1 luggage..but something was wrong with it...so al said..ok lets try without any luggages check it..n it worked! haha so no check in luggage for us XD

so we paid...n yea we bought ourselves a tickets to Oslo....muwahahaha just like tht!
n thn we found out...it's in Norway...n they use Krone s their currency...n thn we wikipedia it up..apparently it's like the highest cost of living in the europe..we looked at each oth laughed..n said crap...thn it's like 25% higher thn UK...we just laughed..haha n said great...we r goin to a place which is more expensive thn UK...brilliant!!

so thn we checked the conversation rate..it's like 10p to 1 krone..not too bad..so we checked the hostels...it's like 18pounds/night roughly...so we were like..ahh its fine thn....thn i said we shud hire a car.....thn we all came up with the idea of....a night in the car..a nite in the hostel to bath..n alternate...hahaha...thn we came have a tent n sleeping bag..so if the weather is good..we just camp outside!!! so i came up with the sleeping bag n said this is soo coool...thn pulak i kena cha -_- al said...gosh u're such a tom boy..no girls r actually gonna go with this idea n sleep in a tent ..i was like..whatttt i grew up with my brothers =p

anyway don't u think stuff like this r fun?? haha *posing this Q to readers*
