Vacation & updates! =)

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Well first it was the vacation in the mountains than the vacation from blogging and everything else! :)

Last 2 weeks ago we went for a lovely vacation in Krkonose mountains =) weather was perfect! good company! and I even learnt skiing! Pavel has evolved into a pretty good teacher ;D

We went to the Dvur Karlove Zoo, watching animals in the winter is pretty cool :) Although quite a fair bit of animals are hiding and they don't wanna come out! Too cold for them.

I wanted to post up some pictures but apparently Pavel has not uploaded it yet to FB and ...ok just one picture...to show how awesome the weather we had ;D
Ain't it amazing? Pity didn't spend much time taking pictures though ..too busy learning how to ski ;) and yup it's pretty fun after all...although I was pretty much afraid that I was gonna kill someone or myself! But I guess skiing is a lot like life...especially ours lately :) Being afraid of the unknown...so many things to worry about...but if you let it bogue you down, it will! So I decided to take a step of faith, trusting that Pavel would save me anytime (he's a really good skier ;) and I will be alright. I need to trust in myself too that I will be able to do it. And once I got past the fear, I was able to ski and even have some fun! =) I was actually enjoying it :) Just 2 days of learning and I got pretty good at it! haha well not as good to even quality as an amateur but good enough to get compliments to be a fast learner! haha ;) Valentine's Day Oh we had a really nice Valentine's Day :) just the both of us of course ;) A visit to the dentist in the early morning for Pavel - I finally know that he's on a root canal treatment (thanks to my mate/dentist) Than a trip to the hospital for CT scan and blood test - Pavel didn't faint this time round, he did on his first CT scan...he left out - I need to lie down when you jab me or take out canula part ;) After that we had a cuppa of hot chocolate! A really nice best-ever-chocolate-drink-so thick you have to use a spoon to drink it! :D Than we made ourselves a lovely dinner of bramboraky aka potato pancake :) our favorite =) Report Results We got our results back just last Friday and it's an ALL CLEAR!! =D =D And the next checkup will be in 2 months time ...it's gonna last for 5 years these checkups but will gradually decrease over these 5 years and than just anually =) so off to bed!

Interesting Sights in Prague

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Well apart from the usual stuff like Charles Bridge and Prague's Castle, here's some of what I find interesting in Prague =)

In no particular order..

NOTE: If you're a student, always bring your along your STUDENT CARD!! Czech is a student-friendly place :) Nearly everywhere you go, they have special discounts for'em ;)

A whole day trip. I love this place :)
Perfect when you're bored of historically architecture richness and overdose XD

2. Reon Argondian's Gallery
Pay
Full of mystical creations. A mystically romantic spot ;)
It's located below Petrin's tower, nearby the cable car about 200 - 300m away.

3. Prague Castle's park
Free
(north side of the castle)
A serene park filled with little surprises!~ And it's a really big park and lots of places in which you can wonder around.

4. Mirror room
Pay
under Petrin tower - good fun =)

5. Night view of Prague is a must!!!
Free

6. Štefánik Observatory
Pay

Prague is all about romance and when you're tired with it, it's time for some good laughter and squeals!
Super cool bob sleighs kinda thing. Really good fun!! =D

Lots of things in Prague to check out :)

in a foreign land called Czech

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

so many things have occurred in life...i feel that sometimes i really need a hardisk to store up all the happenings and a smart system to be able to retrieve it anytime :) i guess the best is friends...the people in my life could remember so much more than I do!..my reasoning would be - there's too much going on in life :p as I savor every moment of it...the old ones just got archived somewhere XD

anyway now i'm in a foreign land called Czech but not so foreign as it is the home to my beloved husband! *i have to start using husband somewhere :D*

it is a nice country definitely...although my love for my country still stands =) slowly I'm starting to meet nice & friendly people on my own..even though language bars up...i think my charm still works ;)
and i'm learning more Czech as the day passes

simple phrases for those of you traveling to Prague:-

Hello - ahoj (a-hoy: just like the way the sailors say it ;)

Please - prosím (proh-seem)

Thank You - děkuji (jeh-ku-ee)

BEER - pivo (pi-vo) no doubt one of the best in the world :D

Water - voda (vo-dah)
most of the water bottled are carbonated, if you don't fancy it like me look out for this sign
on the bottle ne perlivý (non carbonated)
Pub - hospoda (hos-poh-dah)
not only do they have beers but good cheap food too!

Some simple facts about Czech Republic:-
- it's land locked
- borders 4 countries: Poland (NE), Slovakia (SE), Germany (NW) & Austria (SW)
- everything is in Czech, LITERALLY every movie & book that comes in here is translated into Czech despite having a population of only 10.5M & with Prague 1.2M
FYI: Malaysia 28M and KL 2.7M
- Prague is one of the top 10 most romantic cities in the world ;)

will post interesting stuff to see and do in Prague next time :D

the 3 sisters, Glencoe, Scotland

I had one of the best trips ever to the Highlands.
Was away for the weekend =) on the 4th - 6th April 2008.
Basically stayed in Inverness and than went around to loads of places...met the most amazing people and some turned into buddies =D

life long bonds were forged...

loads of amazing pictures and lots of crazy laughters!!!
a wacky bunch of mates + wacky fionna tan = complete wacky-ness!!

we compliment each other so well...that I'm amazed!! haha our cheeky-ness and wacky-ness just fueled each others traits =D

just one of the wacky stuff that we did~

the tree idea was brilliant!! climbed loads of trees and took lots of photos...had a whole great deal of laughter!! I bumped my head on this tree and one of my mates fell of a tree and we were all in stitches!! ahh the brilliant idea was instigated none other than myself! haha

a rare decent photo!!

loved the trees XD

at the top of the hillllll

*a kick* and there goes Khai Yong in the air

this is the hill top where Nigel proposed to Jan ^^ pretty slick, proposing on a hill top. You could either push the other off the hill or jump off yourself XD if rejection comes along =p

the 2 kulis chillin out with fresh air: been 3 years & reaching the half soon that we served as the batch representative of P105 ^^ not easy but been a pleasure~

Fionna Tan wins the battle & KY stamps his feet in frustration

haha =p

khai yong's touch to finish it off =D

at last! - balloch

Friday, February 29, 2008

well the PMR (patient medical records) sure took me longer than I expected to finish it up!!!!

anyway before I start on my CPP --> single vessel disease...something to do with your heart..I haven't start reading yet so spare me XD

I wanna just show off some of my photos from the country walk!! Balloch is the place~
Wei Meng, Khai Yong & Xin Yin went along too...but so far I think only WM blogged it ^^ hey KY and XY if you guys blogged it, put your links down in the comment =)

Balloch Country Park: Near Loch Lomond

i just love snapping photos =)

thus i am always behind

that's the balloch castle nothing much to shout about

it just all depends on the angle you are viewing it from

squishy-squashy muddy puddy = FUN

it was a cloudy day

a beautiful & serene place for a hospice =) for kids...it's all public funded!

i might consider opening up a stall to sell my prints ^^

the walking group =D at the top

swans are just so photogenic & the way they swim airs with grace

i like this shot! VAIN haha his name is just too hard for me to pronounce =p

the first primroses = spring awaits to bloom

ahh i love the walk!! the fresh air!! the wind!! thank God for a fine weather = no rain! But wish we had a good 5mins of sun to get better pictures =D
nonetheless it was fun!! a fairly easy walk =) no stamina required

for those of you whose interested just grab a train from Queen St. £4.60 return to Balloch station and there you are =) about an hour train ride
we went to Lomond Shores as well, a nice shopping complex with a cafe overlooking the loch and a Sea World which looks pretty interesting =)

Pictures taken from a tourist glass shop, can't remember what's the place called

It's amazing what mere sand with an added touch of heat & colors can produce.
The journey must first take place before the destination.

vienna jet lounge

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

right now...

a red squarish design sofa
sony vaio laptop
on my left arm rest: a cup of Baileys on the rock
with a plus dark maroon carpet under my feet
dad and mum towards my right
dad's watching TV
mum's asleep

since i don't have my mac with me and my camera is running low on batt and that i don't have my card reader with me...no pics for a good wee while =)

with an hour plus more to go for my boarding flight to Hamburg..i am comfortably seated in Vienna's Jet Lounge ^^ (Diner's card rocks) unfortunately I don't have it yet thus Dad had to pay 15euros for me to enter ;)

so far I have been to Hungary and Romania (ate a whole lot of food --> now I literally look fat and rounded! -_- it was like breakfast, lunch, dinner: meat meat meat meat meat AND bread bread bread AND lots lots lots of 101 other things) good food nonetheless!! Did some ministry time over there and it's really brilliant to see the people there :)

ahh tired d..shall just type later and now log on to facebook to do my replies ^^

although i'm in vienna now, I didn't do much for sight seeing and all as mum and dad wanted to do shopping..and I got a jacket from here (and also another jacket from Hungary as my yellow puffy one was torn)

my black jacket from Hungary was a ripped-off coz dad was bugging me to buy it =p than my bad for not thoroughly checking it -_- the 2 pockets had holes in them...i only realised that when i was in vienna XD it cost me 40 euros for that jacket

welp..i do need to come back to vienna to really see the sights and all...some of the food are really good around here..especially the breads..there have loads of different toppings for it..i tried austria's famous dessert...God-knows what's it called but it wasn't too nice..basically a kind of chocolate cake...didn't really like it coz it was kinda dry...the other type of chocolate cake was much better as it was moist but this was not what the austrians are proud of

met up with my friend, Sahiba Minhas..which after 4 years of not seeing each other! ...but I'd suppose both of us have not changed much :) in terms other than that I got fatter XD

It is really terrible that I don't speak German..coz that's what everyone here speaks! Hard to get by at times without having someone that speaks German -_-

Good thing I'm gonna be staying at my dad's buddy place...so will be well taken care off and getta go around places in a car! That is like one of the most important thing especially when you can't speak the local language and people don't speak english that much!

the walk up towards the wallace monument begins

lovely icy pricks ^^

the forest

a foggy view

tht's me all bundled up but still FREEZZIINNNGGGG

after a good wee walk...we finally reached

the entrance

a symbol of courage

the guy is William Wallace who is being trialled. It's pretty cool, the face is just a projection on a 2D blank face :)

here the close-up of the face...it actually look pretty real too ^^

it's pretty neat the tower itself, will show you more pics of in the next posting. They also give out a telephone kinda thing, where basically you can hear the explanation of various things in the tower which you just key in the corresponding number....sleepy
